Ghostface Killah is back in court, but this time he's on the offensive. 

Yesterday, the Staten Island rapper filed a lawsuit in New York State Court against Universal Music Group (UMG) for unpaid royalties. According to Billboard, Ghost's suit alleges that the label is collecting twice the amount it's supposed to in royalties for his songs with the Wu-Tang Clan. UMG claims that it holds 50 percent ownership of the songs, but Ghost counters that the label only holds a 25 percent stake and therefore owes the MC tens of thousands of dollars in royalties.

Ghost's legal moves come just a month after the rapper himself was sued by Jaques Urbont, composer of the theme song of the 1966 TV cartoon Iron Man, as previously reported here at BET.com. The Shaolin rapper sampled the song liberally throughout his 2000 classic Supreme Clientele. Last week, Ghost's legal team filed papers moving the court to dismiss Urbont's suit, citing the statute of limitations, as the album was released 11 years ago.
