Memorial for Mobb Deep's Prodigy Will Be Open to the Public
When hip-hop grieves an unexpected and unsettling loss of iconic figures as it did last Tuesday (June 20) after Mobb Deep’s Prodigy passed away, fans weep just as hard.
Thankfully, close family and friends behind the funeral proceedings have taken that into consideration and will be holding an open visitation in New York City for fans of the fallen rap legend to pay their last respects.
According to Billboard, the service will take place on Thursday (June 29) at “The Funeral Chapel,” otherwise known as Frank E. Campbell, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The flyer for the public service invited fans from all over and includes the address and times of visitation for Prodigy, real name Albert Johnson.
In addition to his most devout fans, expect possible appearances from hip-hop’s circle to send off their final love and goodbyes as well. Prodigy’s Mobb Deep partner Havoc, Nas, Joe Budden, Lil' Kim, and Questlove are just a few names who commemorated the rap star and may continue to do so at the public or private funeral processions as well.
