Ludacris has been slated to be the headlining performer for MLB's 2011 Civil Rights Game Week in May. The four-day event sponsored by MLB and the Atlanta Braves will take place May 12-15 and will pay tribute to all those who have fought for equal rights both on and off the field. The Atlanta native and a special guest will take the stage at Turner Field and perform a one-hour show on the 14th, a day before the fifth annual Civil Rights Game between the Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies.

"I'm a fan of baseball, and I am honored to be a part of MLB's family and tradition of being a pioneering organization for civil rights and social justice and equality," Ludacris said. "I have studied the strides made in baseball and in sports, and the impact they have had on social issues affecting race and race relations in America. The Civil Rights Game Week is a celebration of those achievements and a reminder of our ongoing responsibility to continue leveling the playing field for all."

Other prgrams scheduled for the week include the Baseball and the Civil Rights Movement Roundtable Discussion, the Youth Summit/"Wanna Play?" event for kids and a screening of the Hank Aaron documentary Chasing the Dream. For tickets and more info, visit mlb.com.
