Trinidad James is back in hustle mode after he was reportedly booted from Def Jam.

Last Friday (Aug. 2) James announced that he was no longer with the imprint tweeting, "I should tell yall. I got dropped by the Label. My Album is now free. If u hear ur beat or verse on it. I hope u want dap cuz i got no money." 

Yesterday, he delivered "Doin Me" to address getting dropped. The Atlanta native lets out more than five minutes worth of rhymes over the piano beat. He opens by revealing fears about making music. "I said it's a chance that rapping won't work, and then my first hit could be my last verse," spits James. "The people that were cheering for me, they won't cheer no mo'/and the n----as that said they love me, they don't care no mo.'"

Later in the song he raps, "so much burnt bridges, broken trust trying to renovate," and in the end he decides to just go back to what he knows best. "All I can do is be me, and when you want that real, you gon' see me," he promises. "I did it everybody else way, I'm back to doin' me."

James signed a reported $2 million contract with Def Jam after his "All Gold Everything" single blew up. He had only been rapping for 10 months. 

As of press time Def Jam has not responded to BET.com's request for comment.
