There's Something Really Important Kendrick Lamar Left Off of 'DAMN.'

If you ever needed proof that he pens his own lyrics...

As of Thursday night (April 13), Kendrick Lamar fans everywhere have 14-tracks worth of reasons to rejoice now that his fourth studio arrival DAMN. is finally here.

And now that the lyrics and tracks are officially out of the bag, TDE’s boss Anthony “Punch” Tiffith has exposed even more greatness from the pen of King Kendrick.

Posting to his Instagram, Punch revealed a photo of handwritten K-Dot lyrics that would have belonged to the album’s seventh track, “PRIDE.” The notepad is scrawled with red print and personalized bars from the Compton rap prophet written down the entire page.

“Ok. N****s wanna post [their] best K-Dot pics [because] the album out,” Punch wrote in the photo’s caption. “How about this pic I got from Dot of a lost verse for the song ‘PRIDE.’ Haaaaa. Yea.”

While it’s unclear what verse replaced the original lyrics, the bars fit right in with the track’s thought-provocation and introspective subject matter. The lost verse reads as follows:

“Pride is my biggest sin / I tried to fight it but I never win / Lay’n myself down in the beds I made / Karma is always knockin with capital K’s / It started when I was toss’n my life in the sand / Cross’n the street, momma don’t you hold my hand / Time revealing itself / My ways are magnified / Same patterns requiring that I never camouflaged / Looking at me in shock you found my identity / Asking yourself do I have room 4 empathy / Everything is subject 2 change / But not me.”

Though the bars didn’t make the cut for DAMN., we hope K-Dot still finds good use for them elsewhere.
