Gotcha!

Happy April Fool's Day!

In celebration of the international day of pranks, we take a look back at some of the most epic trolling moments either carried out by or on some of your favorite celebrities.

From Beyoncé and Jay Z's epic Run trailer that left fans with a hilariously blunt and unexpected concluding message to our very own BET Uncut "announcement" — sike! — we cover the 11 most outstanding pranks we all fell for.

  1. Jamie Foxx's restaurant brawl with a fan

At the top of the year, Jamie Foxx made headlines after getting into a brawl with a man who allegedly attacked him at a Los Angeles celebrity hot spot. After the word spread on the fight, the Oscar winner posted a video poking fun at what went down. Oh, Jamie. Was this all a joke on us?

  2. Beyoncé and Jay Z prank the world with 'Run' movie trailer

Beyoncé and Jay Z are masters at branding, so when they released the movie trailer for Run, in support of their then upcoming joint On the Run tour, many figured a film was in the works and ready to be released. That is, until they reached around the 3:32 mark of the clip, with the words "coming never" appearing on the screen in bold. Well played, King and Queen. Well played.

  3. Jussie Smollett announces he's leaving 'Empire'

Jussie Smollett broke the hearts of Empire fans everywhere in May 2016 when he claimed he was leaving the popular Fox series following the finale, which showed the infamous scene where he was shot. "Time to go make a record and some movies," he said in the tweet. However, shortly after the news hit fever pitch, he posted a video clarifying his words, and highlighting that he's actually not going anywhere.

Soulja Boy is known for his trolling antics, but who knew he would be the butt of the joke, this time around? It all started when the former reality star "posted" a photo of an ultrasound to Instagram with the caption highlighting that he was about to be a father. After fans pointed out that it was a stock image, his friend took to social media to reveal that he was actually the brains behind the operation.

  6. 'BET Uncut' isn't actually making a comeback

The internet went into a frenzy in August 2015 when BET announced that it was reprising the formerly popular BET Uncut cult classic program to the air. However, the excitement was cut off in a matter of seconds after it was explained that it was all in preparation for a new rebranding of the classic prank series Punk'd. Sorry to disappoint you, guys.

Kim Kardashian found herself on the receiving end of an April Fool's prank in 2010 when Nicole Richie joined forces with her sister Khloé and hacked her Twitter account. Who else can do Adele better than... well, Adele? The singer showed she was a good sport when she took part in a prank with BBC's Graham Norton in 2015, where she acted as an Adele impersonator named Jenny. She even joined an entire group of other Adele impersonators who were auditioning for a fake talent show. The moment she surprised the group was pretty priceless.

  10. Rihanna surprises Jimmy Kimmel in bed

Not many would complain if Rihanna pranked them by performing a concert in their bedroom, and late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel was right on board with this sentiment. In April 2015, the Bajan beauty, with the help of Kimmel's producers, snuck into his home while he was asleep and gave him a show, performing her then new single, "B***h Better Have My Money." Gotta love that RiRi.

  11. Oprah pranks her studio audience

No one does surprises better than the Big O. Oprah had her studio audience convinced during a 2010 taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show that they were there to talk about giving. However, when she revealed that they were actually there for her infamous "Favorite Things" kick-off, all hell broke loose — in a good way, of course.

50 Cent made a scene in August 2016 after his junk was put on full display on an episode of his hit Starz series Power. Things got so heated that he and the series' showrunner, Courtney Kemp, went at it on social media over the scene's approval. However, it appeared that it was all a joke on the viewers and fans of the show as Kemp explained in a Refinery 29 interview that the "feud" was all a ploy for ratings, and they were both in on the plan.
