Deceived! Here's Blac Chyna's Reaction to the Kardashians Suing Her
It was recently reported that the Kardashians have shut down their soon-to-be sister-in-law's request to trademark the name "Angela Renée Kardashian" — her legal name once she marries Rob. Now, Blac Chyna's attorney has revealed that he's "shocked" at the famous family's approach.
"The Kardashians, like Angela and my other clients are very protective of our marks, I think for us this is going to be a clear case win, because it's actually her name, it's not a poaching," said Walter Mosley, Chyna's lawyer to People. "I would hope that this is just a junior lawyer's error, who's just responding to everything and not really looking at who it's from or why it was filed."
Mosley said there is a way this can be settled, but until that happens, he has to follow the proper protocol to protect his client.
"There's a softer side of this where Angela has to have a conversation with her family," he said. "But until I hear otherwise, I'm just going to proceed as I normally would with a lawsuit. I have 40 days to respond."
The documents filed by the Kardashian sisters state that they believe their companies will "suffer damage including irreparable injury to their reputation and goodwill" if Chyna is allowed to take their last name.
Chyna's lawyer continued, saying that this all came as a surprise as things seemed to be great between Chyna and the reality TV family.
"Everything has been fantastic between her and the family to the best of my knowledge, so this is a shock," he said. "Thus, I'm under the belief that it's a misunderstanding. I don't know how this plays out any other way."
Is it a misunderstanding or are the Kardashian smiles all for show?
