Joan Rivers Wanted 'Hair Like Beyoncé' at Funeral
Joan Rivers was always a woman who knew exactly what she wanted, even when it came to her own funeral. The comedy icon, who died Thursday morning at 81, spent an entire chapter of her 2012 memoir, I Hate Everyone...Starting With Me, to death, funerals and the In Memoriam segment of the Academy Awards.
In the chapter, Rivers had some specific ideas about how she wanted to be laid to rest. "When I die, I want my funeral to be a huge showbiz affair with lights, cameras, action...I want craft services, I want paparazzi and I want publicists making a scene! I want it to be Hollywood all the way," she wrote.
As for her look, Rivers seemed clear that she wanted to be fully glam in the coffin. "I want to look gorgeous, better dead than I do alive. I want to be buried in a Valentino gown and I want Harry Winston to make me a toe tag. And I want a wind machine so that even in the casket my hair is blowing just like Beyoncé's."
Hopefully, Rivers will get the grand send-off an icon of her stature deserves.
