Zendaya attended the InStyle Awards yesterday (Oct. 23rd) where she was being honored and recognized for her red-carpet fashion along with others.

Styled by Law Roach and inspired by the '60s and '70s eras, Zendaya wore a rainbow-tiered Schiaparelli sleeveless dress. She paired it with a platform red sandal and a new 'do that turned heads. Wearing an afro wig, Daya gave all the foxy Cleopatra vibes.

Not only did she show up looking the part, Zendaya gave a touching speech about how fashion gives her confidence stating:

“I think for me, I really have been lucky to find, through fashion, a lot of confidence,” she said. “For me, dressing up and trying new things is a form of exploring my confidence, exploring what I like, exploring what I enjoy. When I go on carpets, for some people, some people hate this part. This is my favorite part. I can just go to a red carpet and just go home, because it’s like my favorite part is the red carpets. That’s sometimes opposite for people, but I enjoy it. It’s fun for me. I get to be these different characters. It’s like an alter ego.”

Zendaya, who is known for exuding confidence and checking anyone who sends negativity her way, told audience members that the only person’s opinion that you should care about is yours specifically.
