Colin Kaepernick Received The Sports Illustrated's Muhammad Ali Legacy Award From Beyoncé And Gave This Powerful Speech
Sports Illustrated announced last week that Colin Kaepernick is the 2017 recipient of its Muhammad Ali Legacy Award.
While that shouldn't have come as a surprise, what did was none other than Beyoncé appearing as a special guest in New York City last night to present the woke, free-agent quarterback with the prestigious award.
"It feels so good to be here on such a special night of appreciation," Queen Bey said after taking the stage, as reported by BuzzFeed News. "Thank you, Colin Kaepernick. Thank you for your selfless heart and your conviction. Thank you for your personal sacrifice. Colin took action with no fear of consequence or repercussion — only hope to change the world for the better, to change perception, to change the way we treated each other, especially people of color."

And when Kaepernick took the stage, he delivered yet another powerful speech, following up on his words at the ACLU of SoCal's "Bill of Rights" dinner to accept the Courageous Advocate award over the weekend.
"With or without the NFL's platform, I will continue to work for the people," Kaepernick said as part of his speech, "because my platform is the people."

As SI's tweet says, you can watch Kaepernick's full speech this Friday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
What a magical night.
