Donald Trump Says He "Should Have Left Them In Jail" In Response To LaVar Ball Not Praising Him

His son LiAngelo and two UCLA basketball teammates were arrested in China for shoplifting before Trump got them pardoned.

We all know Donald Trump is petty, but this latest incident may show why he's among the world’s pettiest.

  • Just a little backstory: LiAngelo Ball, along with UCLA basketball teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were arrested on shoplifting charges earlier this month.

Trump, who was in China during his 12-day Asia trip, felt like he’d be the cool guy by getting the players off and lobbied Chinese president Xi Jinping for their release, which was granted.

All three subsequently thanked the president, however that apparently wasn’t enough. LiAngelo’s father LaVar reportedly refused to show his gratitude toward Trump, who then went to Twitter to complain and even suggest that it was all a big mistake.

  • "Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal," Trump tweeted this afternoon (November 19). "I should have left them in jail!"

    SMH… Wow.

Twitter had a field day. See their reaction below.
