Aaron Hernandez's Fiancée Testifies He Was Drunk Before Odin Lloyd's Murder
Aaron Hernandez's fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins, took the stand Friday to testify in the ex-NFL star's murder trial. Jenkins revealed her accounts of what Hernandez did upon returning home on the night Odin Lloyd was shot to death in June 2013.
Jenkins told the jury that Hernandez was drunk in the hours leading up to the murder of Lloyd, her sister's boyfriend. She also testified that she found a gun in their kitchen drawer on the day of Lloyd's murder. According to ESPN, Jenkins wouldn't look at Hernandez while in court testifying Friday, but did seem to mouth something in his direction as she left the stand.
Jenkins was granted immunity by the court in February, signaling she would either testify or possibly face prison time of her own. Jenkins and Hernandez have a 2-year-old daughter.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty of Lloyd's murder. The former New England Patriots tight end also faces separate charges stemming from a 2012 double homicide of two men in Boston.
