NY Teen Receives Acceptance Letters From All Eight Ivy League Schools
Kwasi Enin, a 17-year-old student, is finally reaping the rewards of all that he's sowed these past few years at William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, New York. The first-generation American has been accepted by all eight Ivy League schools: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown and the University of Pennsylvania.
"I've never heard of someone getting all eight," Enin told Newsday. The son of Ghanaian immigrants, Enin has definitely accomplished a rare feat. But he's been putting in major work.
He scored 2,250 out of 2,400 on the SAT exam, putting him at the 99th percentile of all test takers. He also would have taken 11 Advanced Placement classes before he graduates. His GPA puts him at no. 11 in his class at school. He also plays the viola for his school's orchestra.
Kwasi must decide what campus he will join by May 1. He wants to pursue both music and medicine. His decision will based on his financial aid package.
