Love him or hate him Future’s uniqueness is rarely questioned. Even so, there have recently been a few instances that have people asking if he’s still the only Young Metro shooter.

Most recently California rapper KYLE brought out a Future impersonator at a show last week and tricked fans into think he’d trotted out the real deal. Perhaps the storyline that has more staying power is the newest member of G.O.O.D. Music, Desiigner. Many feel he sounds so much like Future, they actually thought he was the one featured on Kanye West’s latest album The Life of Pablo.

Well, now Future Hendrix seems to be responding to those impersonating his sound, particularly Desiigner. During his New York stop on the Purple Reign Tour, the Atlanta rapper wanted to make it clear that he’s the only one that can sound like him.

"I'm the Plug," he told the crowd before performing as captured on an Instagram video. “I’ma let y’all ni**as know, there’s only one Future in this motherf****r and I’m really the plug.” While he didn’t call out Desiigner by name, it’s pretty clear that’s who was on his mind.

Complex recently spoke with Kanye’s new artist and asked him about his likeness of Future. While he wanted to differentiate himself he still had nice words to say about him. “God gave him a blessing, but he gave me a blessing too. I ain't gonna doubt the man's music. He make beautiful music too. Music is made every day. Big ups to him, big ups to Future. I actually like Future’s music. I like his music, you feel me. I’m not a hater or a critic on him, you know, I do me. God bless him, God bless me.”
