Here’s How Diddy Wants to Help the People of Flint, Michigan
Diddy spent a portion of his Martin Luther King Jr. holiday bringing more awareness to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.
Taking to Instagram Monday, the Bad Boy Records mogul reposted a video calling the water calamity a form of intentional “genocide” against residents in the predominately Black area. “I don't know if these facts are true but we need to #WAKEUP AND #WAKETHEF---KUP INCLUDING MYSELF!,” wrote Diddy. “Let's LOOK INTO THIS!!! I will share any information I get you do the same!!!!”
To end the post, Diddy announced that Aquahydrate, a company of which he is part owner, “will be doing a water drive and we need your help!!!!”
Jeezy also had Flint on the brain yesterday tweeting the following:
Flint’s public health crisis began in 2014 when the city switched water sources from Detroit to the Flint River until a new water pipeline was built. Corroded pipes transferred lead into the drinking water and what was supposed to be a money-saving attempt has grown into a state of emergency — and those most vulnerable are children.
Due to the drinking water, more than 8,000 children in Flint have been exposed to lead poisoning.
