Update: Rick Ross Released from Jail
UPDATE: Rick Ross put his $ 5 million mansion up as collateral, and has been released on bond Wednesday afternoon. _______________________________________________________________________________________________
PREVIOUS: Rick Ross has been locked up for about a week now, and he’s ready to be free. The MMG boss appeared in a Georgia courtroom today to request bond in his kidnapping and assault case.
For now, Ross, 39, is still behind bars, as his bond was denied. The judge did rule that his medical records will stay sealed. His bodyguard also remains in custody, likely pending a final ruling on the bond request.
Ross stands accused of kidnapping and pistol whipping Jonathan Zamudio, a grounds keeper at his property. Ross, whose birth name is William Roberts II, was arrested on June 24, and taken to the Fayette County Jail where he remains.
People on social media are comparing his fight for bond to that of Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old man who shot and killed nine people at a historic Black church. Roof was granted $1 million bond, but for weapons possession, not the murder charges.
