Update: Suge Knight Surrenders in Fatal Hit and Run
UPDATE: Suge Knight has turned himself into authorities and police are investigating the hit-and-run as a homicide.
Knight's lawyer, James Blatt said that the crash, which fatally injured Knight's friend and wounded another, was an accident. "We are confident that once the investigation is completed, he will be totally exonerated," he said.
Police report that witnesses have said that the act seemed intentional.
UPDATE: Suge Knight's lawyer confirms Knight was the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Compton on Thursday.
Knight claims he was attacked by two people and tried to escape in the car, which led to the hit-and-run at about 3 p.m. at Central Avenue and 142nd Street. Knight is expected to turn himself in to sheriff's deputies, his lawyer James Blatt said.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies said both victims were taken to a hospital, where a man was pronounced dead. The condition of the other victim was not immediately known.
UPDATE: The movie set on which the fatal altercation between Suge Knight and two crew members took place was a promotional shoot for Straight Outta Compton, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The N.W.A biopic, produced by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, wrapped shooting sometime last year and is slated for an August 2015 release.

Suge Knight was involved in a hit-and-run in Los Angeles on Thursday, and the victim has been declared dead. TMZ reports that Knight got into a fight on the set of a film project in Compton and ran over a man. Knight reportedly then fled the scene.
Multiple witnesses report that a film shoot for an unspecified project was underway with Game, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre present when Knight pulled up in his car. A fight broke out between Knight and two crew members. Knight then got back into his car and ran over a bystander when he was reversing away from the scene. An eyewitness video shows first responders attempting to give the victim CPR, but to no avail.
Sources say the victim is Terry Carter, a friend of Knight's. The two men who fought Knight reportedly instigated the incident, with Knight in fear for his ailing health (he was famously shot six times last summer and recently suffered a near-fatal blood clot).
