Miguel's accidental drop-kick move during the Billboard Music Awards became the talk of social media, spawning Internet memes and parodies alike. Up next? A lawsuit, maybe.
E! News reports that the fan Miguel accidentally kicked is "considering" legal action. Khyati Shah didn't appear seriously injured, and even went backstage with the singer to participate in interviews. Now, her lawyer says that the decision to take legal action is still up in the air. "We will determine that after we have have feedback from medical providers," attorney Vip Bhola said.
Bhola added that Shah has been experiencing "difficulties" since the televised hit, but that Miguel's lawyer has not yet been contacted.
The 27-year-old was trying a crowd jump when he nearly landed directly on Shah. "Got caught up in the moment," he tweeted after the fact. "Thank goodness Khyati is OK."
Khyati was seen holding an ice pack to her arm, but was all smiles despite what looked like a pretty brutal hit.
Potentially being sued is the latest in a week of mild controversy for the "Adorn" crooner. He recently got the Twitterverse in an uproar for calling Black people "the most judgmental people in the world." Days later, Miguel refused to back down telling BBC radio's Charlie Sloth, "I see more Black people tearing down other Black people than I see any other culture tearing down their own culture, regardless of what they're doing.
"I'm just talking about what I see, and how disappointed I am in that."
