Will, Jada Pinkett Smith Donate Big Bucks for Million Man March

Louis Farrakhan acknowledges support for 20th Anniversary event.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are among the most charitable celebrities in Hollywood, always ready to throw down some serious cash for the causes in which they believe. This week, the power couple wrote a check for $150,000 to subsidize the Million Man March in Washington, D.C.

Through their Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, which provides resources and education to inner-city families, the couple decided to support the event, which takes place under the theme Justice Or Else! on the National Mall in October.

This year marks its 20th anniversary. Will attended the first, held on October 16, 1995 in the nations capital. It was called by Minister Louis Farrakhan, who is still at the helm and organizing with rapper/reality star Game. The civil rights activist thanked the Smiths for their donation at a rally in Philadelphia earlier this month, encouraging other entertainers to follow the Smiths' example and open their wallets to the cause. He says he needs to raise $1.8 million in total to stage the march.
