Box Office: Think Like a Man Too Trumps 22 Jump Street
Think Like a Man Too hit the jackpot at the box office this weekend, debuting with $30 million and a first place finish at the box office.
The comedy sequel, which stars Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union and many more, fell short of the first film’s $33.6 million opening but still met expectations.
Think Like a Man Too managed to beat out 22 Jump Street, starring Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Ice Cube. The buddy-cop comedy stayed strong in second place with an additional $29 million, narrowly missing first place.
Coming in third was the animated family film How to Train Your Dragon 2, which earned $25.3 million in its second weekend for a domestic total of $95.2 million.
Rounding out the top five were Clint Eastwood‘s Jersey Boys and Angelina Jolie‘s live-action fairy tale, Maleficent, which took in $13.5 million and $13 million, respectively. The latter has become Jolie's top-grossing film to date.
Next week, Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction is expected to take a huge bite out of the box office.
