Shaquille O’Neal Gets TV Comedy Show
Shaquille O’Neal hasn’t let any grass grow under his size 22’s since retiring from basketball. The 40-year old, who recently got his Ph.d. in education, is currently taking his Shaq’s All-Star Comedy Jam tour around the country. He is now bringing his brand of funny to a television near you.
The former pro baller will host a new Web video series for TruTV called Upload With Shaquille O’Neal. The show, which was just received a greenlight for a 10-episode order, will feature Dr. O’Neal and his co-host comedian friends Gary Owen (Think Like a Man) and Godfrey (The Mr. Men Show), who will be commenting on the funniest online videos on the Internet. The trio will also create their own original viral videos and parodies, pull pranks and provide commentary on pop culture topics.
“I’ve always tried to entertain people, and I know this show will deliver big laughs,” said Shaq.
This series is not O’Neal’s first foray into TV. Not only does the 7-foot-1 former center work as an NBA analyst for TNT, he also starred in two ABC reality shows — 2009’s Shaq vs., where he challenged athletes in their own sports and the 2007’s youth weight loss transformation show, Shaq’s Big Challenge.
Rap, acting, comedy, becoming a Ph.D., is there anything Shaq can’t do?
