Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Welcome Twins
Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon welcomed a new baby girl and boy early Saturday morning in Los Angeles. According to The Associated Press, Carey's representative Cindi Berger says the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches.
The couple have not released the names of the children just yet.
Initially, Carey assumed her pains were just a bout with false labor, which she'd experienced before, but mother nature was calling. On the other hand, Cannon was so nervous he went to the wrong hospital wing and had to be led to the maternity ward by a medical employee.
"It was like right out of an 'I Love Lucy' skit," said Berger.
To cap off the birth, the couple listened to Carey's "We Belong Together." The couple are expected to renew their wedding vows on May 1 and Carey is not planning on having any more children.
