BET Awards 2021: Cardi B and Offset’s Collab History
Migos’ BET Awards 2021 performance became one of the most talked-about moments of the night when Cardi B took the stage to rap her verse in “Type S**t,” her collab on Migos’ latest album. During her unannouced appearance, Cardi showed off her baby bump, informing us that she’s pregnant with her second child by husband Offset. Though the pregnancy reveal was a big surprise, fans of the rap couple are used to seeing them share the stage.
The couple has worked together multiple times since they met in 2016, featuring on each other’s songs throughout their relationship. Here’s the timeline of Cardi and Offset’s collaboration history and the tracks that capture their chemisty in the recording booth.
January 2017: "LICK"
Cardi and Offset first teamed up for “Lick,” from Cardi’s 2017 mixtape Gangsta Bitch Music Vol. 2. The track about finding success and flaunting it also had a music video where the pair schemed together in a casino. The track came out in January of the same year, months before the couple’s Sept. 20, 2017 wedding.
October 2017: "Motorsport"
The couple’s second collaboration was also Cardi’s first feature on a Migos track. In October 2017, Migos dropped their hit “MotorSport,” which featured both Cardi and Nicki Minaj. The track also had a futuristic car-racing video.
December 2017: "Um Yea"
Cardi and Offset’s third collab happened soon after “MotorSport” in December 2017. The two did a song together on the music label Quality Control’s compilation album, Quality Control: Control The Streets, Volume 1. Migos has been managed by Quality Control since 2015.

April 2018: "drip"
By the time Cardi’s debut album came around, a Migos feature was a given. The trio featured on the song “Drip,” in which they and Cardi flaunt their success and denounce their haters. The song also has the couple rapping its infections hook, “Came through drippin’ (drip, drip).”
July 2018: "Who Want the SMoke"
The couple’s fifth collab came when they both featured on Lil Yachty’s “Who Want The Smoke.” The collaboration, on the single from Yachty’s album Nuthin’ 2 Prove, was Cardi’s first time working with Yachty, though Offset had before. The song has Cardi flaunting her ascendancy in the hip hop game, calling herself “the king of New York.”
March 2019: "Clout"
Cardi and Offset linked up again for “Clout,” the single from Offset’s solo album “FATHER OF 4.” On “Clout,” the hip hop power couple criticize clout chasers and social climbers who use people for fame. The track hit the Top 40 after its yellow-and-black colored music video came out, and it also got Offset his first solo GRAMMY nomination.
