Salt N Pepa Lifetime Biopic Movie Gets Release Date
The Lifetime network has finally revealed the release date of its highly anticipated Salt-N-Pepa biopic miniseries .
Variety reports that the biopic, named Salt-N-Pepa, is set to premiere on Jan 23. The premiere will be followed by a special that will feature the rap icons and hosted by comedian Loni Love.
The biopic, which is directed by Mario Van Peebles, was co-produced by rapper, singer, and actress Queen Latifah.
“The miniseries Salt-N-Pepa follows the story of Queensborough Community College students Cheryl ‘Salt’ James and Sandra ‘Pepa’ Denton as they fall into the world of rap and Hip Hop after recording for a song for their friend Hurby Azor,” Variety’s description reads.
The series stars G.G. Townson as Cheryl “Salt” James, Laila Odom as Sandra “Pepa” Denton, and Monique Paul as Deidra “DJ Spinderella” Roper.
According to Variety, the miniseries is set to cover the group’s biggest hit songs such as “Let’s Talk About Sex,” “What a Man,” “Shoop,” and “Push It.”
