Jay-Z Launches His Own Line Of Cannabis Called Monogram

The venture developed as a result of his partnership with the cannabis company Caliva, where he serves as Chief Brand Strategist.

Jay-Z continues to expand his empire. Over the years, the Roc Nation mogul's fortune has grown into a massive empire that has expanded outside of music into several profitable business ventures. His most recent venture is the launching of a cannabis line called Monogram.

  • The line was officially unveiled with the launch of a new website and Instagram business profile, @MONOGRAMCOMPANY.

    According to a press release, Monogram “seeks to redefine what cannabis means to consumers today.” 

    Per the brand’s website, “Monogram marks a new chapter in cannabis defined by dignity, care, and consistency. It is a collective effort to bring you the best, and a humble pursuit to discover what the best truly means.”

  • So far, the distribution model for Monogram products has not been shared, however, a corporate statement suggests that there could be an online store soon as it reveals that there is “a best in class e-commerce platform dedicated exclusively to its singular product line.”

    Monogram was born from Jay-Z’s partnership with California cannabis company Caliva. 

    He joined Caliva as its Chief Brand Strategist in June 2019 to assist with creative decisions, outreach efforts, and strategy. In addition, the role was partly created for Hov to address social justice issues surrounding weed legalization. 

  • “Anything I do, I want to do correctly and at the highest level,” the rap mogul said in a statement at the time. “With all the potential in the cannabis industry, Caliva's expertise and ethos make them the best partners for this endeavor. We want to create something amazing, have fun in the process, do good, and bring people along the way.”
