Beyoncé Sends Her ‘Prayers And Thoughts’ To Jacob Blake And His Family

The 29-year-old has been left paralyzed from the waist down after Kenosha police allegedly shot him in the back.

Beyoncé is the latest celebrity to join the numerous people sending their well wishes to Jacob Blake.

  • The global superstar took to Instagram on Wednesday (Aug. 23), where she shared a photograph of Blake and his children with the message, “Sending prayers and thoughts to Jacob Blake and his family.

  • Blake, a 29-year-old man from Wisconsin, was reportedly shot in the back multiple times by a police officer in Kenosha, on Sunday (Aug. 23). A video of the incident surfaced online earlier this week whereBlake is seen — who was allegedly trying to break up a domestic dispute between two women — walking away from a group of police officers toward a SUV. One of the officers follows and shoots him at close range after Blake opens the driver’s side of the vehicle to get in. It was later revealed that Blake’s three children were reportedly inside of the vehicle at the time of the incident. . 

    Protests have erupted across the state of Wisconsin in response to yet another instance of the police shooting of a Black man. 

     

    Numerous celebrities have continued to speak out and demand justice for Blake. Cardi B, 50 Cent, T.I., and Common were among the first to react to the video.

     

    At a press conference on Tuesday (Aug. 25), Blake’s family, joined by civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, revealed that Blake is paralyzed from the waist down, and it would “take a miracle” for him to walk again.

     

  • The Kenosha police officers involved in the police shooting have since been placed on administrative leave amid an investigation.
