Ja Rule Defends Himself Over Fyre Festival Involvement After Two Documentaries Sweep The Internet
Netflix and Hulu premiered documentaries about Fyre Festival and the disaster that became of it.
The result of the 2017 festival had one of its organizers convicted of wire fraud last week. For those who remember how it was put together or even watched either of the documentaries know that Ja Rule was involved in organizing and promoting it.
Footage of the rapper was in the documentary however he was not interviewed for either Hulu’s Fyre Fraud or Netflix’s Fyre. So it took until today (January 20) for him to officially comment. According to him, he had no influence on the major decisions made behind the scenes, particularly late.
“I love how ppl watch a doc and think they have all the answers,” he wrote. “I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???”
He also tried to pin the blame on Billy McFarland, who was the head of Fyre Festival. “@Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should have went to the ppl in the Bahamas,” he wrote. “@netflix PAID f**k Jerry [Media] who also did all the promo for the festival… ? the docs clearly have Billy at fault but let’s blame the rapper lmao ok…” Ja also added that he has “receipts.”
Ja Rule even went as far as to blame the people watching the documentaries, claiming they’re misinformed about how the whole debacle actually happened. “Y’all want it to be me sooo bad it’s crazy… kinda sad!!!” he wrote. “the crazy s**t is I’m watching the docs in awe myself… I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!”

In other tweets he went back-and-forth with people who continued to criticize him
People still aren't buying it
Whatever you believe you should watch either or both documentaries. It's eye-opening and disheartening to say the least.
