Hip-hop podcaster Joe Budden dropped his two cents on the Nicki Minaj Twitter DM controversy that thundered through social media last week via Wednesday’s “Face Tune” episode of The Joe Budden Podcast.

But if fans thought the Nicki hate train choo-chooing across Twitter was enraging, Uncle Joe’s remarks about Nicki’s alleged drug use is certain to blow a few more gaskets in the Barbs Army. During the conversation, Joey cites the controversial DM incident where Nicki dragged a writer over remarks made about her music and age.

“Let’s all try to guess the drugs that Nicki Minaj is on,” he began at the start of the conversation. “Somebody should watch her usage. Nicki Minaj is 100 percent on something.”

In addition to the social media flare-up, Joe said that a recent video of the head Barb excitedly ripping open a pile of Chanel gifts on Instagram was his “confirmation.” He even claims that Nicki’s former MMG emcee boyfriend, Meek Mill, revealed her drug usage as it related to his as well.

“Meek talked about it,” he said. “Meek talked about him being hooked on pills when he was with her.”

He clarified that he’s not poking fun at her with the speculation, but he believes that those close to her should intervene because it’s becoming “progressively worse.” Doing his best Nicki impersonation, Joey then reads the infamous DM from The Pinkprint raptress that flipped Twitter on its head. Let the “Pump It Up” emcee tell it and nothing was wrong with the writer’s initial tweet that sparked the controversy. He believes Nicki’s response is only more telling of what people have said about her haughty behind-the-scenes behavior for years.

“But Nicki be in The Shade Room’s comments clapping at people,” he said. “To me that reeks of pill usage because pills make you react and respond.”

Joe took into account his own past history with drug abuse and particularly with pill usage, which leads him to assume that it’s pills Nicki could be struggling with. But the Barbs aren’t letting him off so easy for the broadcast presumptions, and they’ve taken to Twitter once again to defend their head Barb against his bold claims.
