Chief Keef Was Shot At Outside Of A NYC Hotel
Chief Keef was reportedly shot at outside of a Midtown Manhattan hotel.
The 22-year-old Chicago rapper was supposedly heading upstairs to his room at the W Hotel when he was confronted by two would-be gunmen before dawn on Saturday (June 2). He was not hit by the gunfire as an errant bullet struck the side of the building.
Now back in Los Angeles, Keef is responding to the shooting. Via telephone, he told the New York Post that he believes rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was behind the incident.
“Yeah, I’m good,” he said when asked of his condition. “It’s just beef between me and the rapper 6ix9ine.”
When describing the shooting, Keef says he was a bit confused and used his hotel room as a place of safety.
“I was just scared a little bit and I didn’t know what to do,” he told the newspaper. “I went upstairs for a couple hours to cool off and I came back [outside]. I didn’t know they were waiting for me.”
The shooting comes just a day after 6ix9ine made a post threatening Keef and his rap associate Lil Reese.
That comes after Chief Keef appeared on the Trippie Redd song “I Kill People” and made a threat of his own. Redd is also feuding with 6ix9ine.
Police are now investigating the shooting and the suspects are still on the run. They also have yet to be identified.
