Sunday (August 23) would have been Kobe Bryant’s 42nd birthday, and the five-time NBA champion is being commemorated in more ways than one. After Nike kicked off “Mamba Week” on the NBA legend’s actual birthday, the City of Orange County officially declared August 24 “Kobe Day.” Additionally, the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation was relaunched on August 23 that continues the life and legacy of Kobe and Gianna through youth sports and charitable actions. 

Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant fans, friends, and family have all taken to social media to celebrate the “Black Mamba” on his special day.
