Toni Morrison, one of the world's most revered literary icons, died on Monday night, her publisher confirmed. She was 88.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning author and first-ever African-American woman to win a Nobel Prize is most remembered for relating multiple facets of the Black experience in her heralded novels including Beloved, Song of Solomon, Home and The Bluest Eye.
Morrison has touched millions of lives through her work, which saw her boast an active career that spanned more than six decades.
