Kevin Hart Reacts to Backlash Ellen DeGeneres Received For Supporting Him
Kevin Hart has once again been placed in the hot seat for homophobic tweets he posted in the past and now he's questioning on social media: "When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn"?
Let us catch you up!
Back in December, the famed comedian revealed on Instagram that he chose not to host the 2019 Oscars after The Academy dug up old homophobic tweets and required him to publicly apologize. According to Kevin, not only did he already apologize, but he also outgrew those ideas.
On Friday, Kevin appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres expressing the feelings that whoever searched through his 40K tweets used them as an “attack” on his career. Ellen clearly sympathized to his feelings.
“I believe in forgiveness. I believe in second chances,” she shared.
Well, the entire interview didn’t sit well with many who felt it was an “insult” to the LGBTQ community.
Defending himself once and for all, the 39-year-old took to Instagram on Saturday, to defend his comments.
"When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge," he wrote in the caption of his IG post. "You can’t change without a understanding of what GROWTH means. #Message #LiveLoveLaugh #HappySaturday."
