Jada Pinkett-Smith Explains Why She Allowed Son Jaden To Move Out At 15

Her reasoning may shock you.

Jada Pinkett-Smith's Facebook Watch talk show, Red Table Talk, has already become an internet favorite with the online program garnering positive responses from the masses due to her and her guests' vulnerability and openness.

The latest episode of the show was, yet again, another testament to this formula, with the actress sharing why she chose to allow her son, Jaden, to move out of their family home at the age of 15.

Before explaining her reasoning for giving her then-teenage son the green light to head out on his own, she stressed that "every child needs something different."

"At 15 years old, Jaden, and I remember this day, specifically. It's probably one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life," she said, addressing the young actor and rapper who was sitting in front of her. "You got to a point where you told me straight up, you were like, 'Mom, I have to leave here to live my life.' I remember thinking to myself, as devastated as I was, I was like, 'He's right. The time is now. He's 15. It's time for him to leave the house.'"

Jaden, himself, then went on to add that he needed to go as he was beginning to feel stifled in the Hollywood bubble.

"It just makes you appreciate being home, being with your parents, spending quality time with your family," he said about the experience. "You get out into the world and you just understand things."

Jada, who was also joined by her daughter, Willow, and mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones, added that she only felt comfortable with the uncommon decision because she was secure in her son's maturity level as he was already managing his own life.

What do you think of this? Would you allow your children to move out at what may be largely considered somewhat of a tender age?
