Steve Harvey Speaks Out on His Harsh Staff Memo That Went Viral

The talk show host is a little shocked.

Steve Harvey's recent decision to distance himself from his talk show staff via email has gotten the attention of the internet in a major way today, with many slamming the entrepreneur for being a "divo."

Now, speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the talk show host is addressing the overwhelming response to his words and he's standing by everything he said.

The leaked memo shows Harvey blasting his staff and demanding that they give him space while in the process of filming his talk show.

One of the stressed parts of the memo was his adamancy that no one pop into his dressing room or talk to him without permission. If they fail to follow the guidelines, he said they can "expect to be removed."

  • Since the leak, the public has been dragging the comedian/actor for the way he addressed his staff, but speaking to ET's Kevin Frazier, he said that though he is shocked at the negative response to the note, he does not regret anything he said.

"I just didn't want to be in this prison anymore where I had to be in this little room, scared to go out and take a breath of fresh air without somebody approaching me, so I wrote the letter," he said. "I don't apologize about the letter, but it's kind of crazy what people who took this thing and ran, man. I appreciate you asking me."

Meanwhile, Twitter is having a field day with the news. Take a look at some of the varying reactions below:
