Is Lupita Nyong'o Set to Join the 'Black Panther' Cast?
Talks about the highly anticipated Black Panther film are at fever pitch now, with Marvel fans itching to know more details about what to expect. Now, if the Hollywood Reporter's words hold any truth, Lupita Nyong'o may be joining the all-star cast.
According to reports, the Oscar-winning actress is currently in negotiations to play a character who's yet to be named. It is confirmed, though, that, if cast, she will be the love interest of T'Challa, better know as the Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman.
Creed director Ryan Coogler will both write and direct the film, which is set to hit theaters in February 2018.
Boseman recently made his debut as Black Panther in the already hugely successful Captain America: Civil War, giving fans a taste of what to expect.
If Lupita signs on to appear in the film, this will be the follow-up to her recent appearance in the blockbuster film Star Wars: The Force Awakes, where she played alien Maz Kanata. Most recently, she served as the voice of Raksha, the mother wolf in The Jungle Book.
