Sean "Diddy" Combs Denied Bail Again in Appeal Hearing

Combs will remain in custody until trial after having bail denied once again.

Sean "Diddy" Combs has been denied bail once again during an appeal hearing Wednesday afternoon on charges that include sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter denied Combs' second request for bail—which included a $50M bond, GPS monitoring, and strict limitations on visitors— and agreed with Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson, who stated Combs is a "danger to the community and poses a serious risk to the integrity."

The mogul was initially denied bail during his arraignment in Manhattan's federal court on Tuesday (Sept. 17) and remanded to jail. During today's appeal, Johnson told Judge Carter that Combs has a "long history of intimidating both accusers and witnesses to his alleged abuse," citing text messages from women who claimed Combs threatened to leak videos of them engaging in "freak offs."

Combs was taken into federal custody in New York City following a grand jury indictment on Monday (Sept.18). He has been embroiled in scandal since news broke last November that former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit alleging sexual and physical abuse.

On Tuesday (Sept. 17), Combs was charged with three counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, according to legal documents. Combs will remain in jail until his trial.
