Gadhafi on the Run to Neighboring Niger?

A mysterious convoy seen leaving Libya and headed toward neighboring Niger is thought to be carrying one of the world's most wanted men, Moammar Gadhafi.

A mysterious armed convoy headed from Libya into Niger may have former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi on board, reports a Netherlands news source.
"I saw an exceptionally large and rare convoy of several dozen vehicles ... go towards Niamey,” a Niger military source told Radio Netherlands. "There are persistent rumors that Gadhafi or one of his sons are travelling in the convoy.”
As of Tuesday morning, it was reported that the 50–vehicle convoy was headed for the capital of Niger, Niamey, and among its passengers are Tuareg fighters recruited by Gadhafi himself. According to officials from Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC), there is also gold and cash aboard the convoy.
Government officials from Niger have since denied claims that Gadhafi is on board and headed for Niamey, but the NTC suspects that, even if Gadhafi isn’t riding across the desert, important members of his entourage might be.

And the rumors and Gadhafi sightings don’t stop there. Despite reports of him being aboard the convoy currently headed into Niger, Gadhafi has reportedly been spotted on the ground in Burkina Faso.
Although the "Burkina Faso" rumors are the likely result of the country’s president extending an invitation to Gadhafi to take refuge in the country, the fact remains that no one seems to know where he is, for sure.
But, no matter where Gadhafi actually is or where he may be headed, it seems that his past contributions to the African continent will help him garner good will wherever he goes.
“It makes sense for him to come here. He has done a lot for our country,” Solange Ouerdraogo, a student at the Ouagadougou University in Burkina Faso, told Radio Netherlands.
