Lee Daniels Reveals Cardi B Auditioned For This Mega-Hit Show Years Before She Was Famous
Cardi B's star has risen to heights many didn't initially anticipate. However, one person who claims to have known the rapper was destined for greatness is director Lee Daniels.
During an interview on TMZ's Raq Rants, the recent headline-making director explained that he fell in love with Cardi B after just one meeting. He added that he even asked for a selfie video with her at the time and that was the catalyst that propelled her career.
In addition to that, he said the "I Like It" femcee also auditioned for a role on his hit FOX TV series, Star, almost three years ago.
He sang the rapper's praises during the interview and gushed about their meeting.
"My favorite hip-hop artist today is Cardi B," he said. "I was looking for somebody for Star and she came in to audition for me and I said, 'Do you mind if I [take a video]?... Mona [Scott-Young] told me she hired her [for Love & Hip Hop] from my Instagram."
