Lil Wayne Set to Drop Clothing Line

The rapper says he wants his fans to be "funky."

In what some might consider a surprising move, rapper Lil Wayne is prepping a clothing line. The New Orleans native is featured on the July/August 2011 issue of XXL, and reveals to the mag that his duds will bear the same name as his 2010 album Rebirth. “I just figure that I… I’m funky,” he remarks of his decision to enter the fashion game. “I got that from my stylist, Marisa. I’m funky, like she say. I wear a whole buncha items at one time, you know what I mean?”

Though the rapper is best known for wearing his iconic white undershirt and sagging jeans, he hints that the line will also include various accessories and unique staples from his rocker wardrobe. “I be figuring you at least want one of them items. Like, ‘Damn, I’d love to have that safety pin he got on,’ you know what I mean? Anything. I got on these types of shoes, these shorts, this sweater.… A year from now, I want all these items to be mine. Rebirth. I want—I just figure people want to be funky like me, so I got my clothing line.”

No word as to when the line will drop, but we were blessed with his new mixtape, Sorry 4 the Wait, this past Wednesday.
