Walmart’s affordable alternative to the iconic Hermès Birkin bag has captured the attention of budget-conscious buyers and social media users alike. 

Priced at just $78, depending on size and color, the viral accessory—nicknamed the “Wirkin”—offers a more accessible option compared to the luxury Birkin, which ranges in price from $7,200 to nearly $400,000.

Hermès’ Birkin bags, renowned for their exclusivity and craftsmanship, are handmade and require up to 40 hours to produce, making them unattainable for most. However, the rise in fashion influencers on social media has driven the popularity of high-quality, lower-priced dupes like the Wirkin.

Kamugo, one maker of the Wirkin, claims the purse is crafted with genuine cowhide leather on the exterior, while synthetic leather is used for the interior. Other brands, including BESTSPR, YMTQ, and Judy, also sell similar totes on Walmart’s site. 

As of Tuesday (Dec 31), the bags have completely sold out online.
