Miley Cyrus Says She Was Lil Kim in a Past Life
There's no denying that Miley Cyrus has made a physical and musical transformation. The former Disney princess swapped out her long brown locks for a bleached-blonde short cut, switched up her wardrobe and has dipped into the rap world (partying with French Montana, collaborating with Snoop and showing off her newly learned twerking skills at a Juicy J concert). She's now claiming that she is Lil Kim "on the inside."
"In my past life, I feel like that was me," MC told Billboard.com, when asked about her favorite female artists. "I feel like Lil Kim is who I am on the inside, and so she just makes me happy listening to her music. I just love her."
Cyrus also named country music legend Dolly Parton as her number one because she is her godmother and because "she is a real life Barbie doll."
Then, with those iconic musical Barbies on her brain, Cyrus added Nicki Minaj, crowning her the "Lil Kim of my generation." (And in another twist, Cyrus claims she's been dubbed "the white Nicki Minaj.")
As for her singing career, Billy Ray's baby girl is committed to making "hood music" without being "hood." She tapped producer Mike Will Made It — known for stripper anthems like Juicy J's "Bandz a Make Her Dance" and Rihanna's "Pour It Up" — for her new single, "We Can't Stop," and other tracks which are likely placing on her album. Though she doesn't have a release date as yet, in an interview with Hot 97, she revealed that she also already has tracks recorded with Nelly, Ludacris, Big Sean and Future.
