Details: Draymond Green Got Arrested Over the Weekend
Three weeks after the Golden State Warriors lost the NBA Finals to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Draymond Green better hope he's not looking at another loss around the corner in a different kind of court.
ESPN is reporting that the Golden State Warriors' All-Star forward was arrested Sunday in East Lansing, Michigan, on assault charges.
"It was basically an altercation between two guys," police said, as reported by ESPN. "There's no injuries. He was released with a $200 bond on Sunday."
Green must now appear for arraignment on July 20 and could stand to face a maximum of 93 days in jail in addition to a $500 fine if convicted.
"At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation," the Warriors said in a response, as reported by ESPN.
Green is coming off his best season in the league and with the Warriors adding Kevin Durant last Monday, the last thing the squad needs is any bad press to take away from the excitement and promise of next season.
