Joycelyn Savage Reportedly Reunites With Parents At Courthouse Hearing
After a whirlwind week, R. Kelly’s rumored girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage, has reportedly reconnected with her parents and immediate family members for the first time in three years. The surprising update comes after the season finale of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly Part II, where the investigative docu-series revealed that Savage cut off communication with her family in 2016 after she moved in with Kelly.
It was later disclosed that Kelly’s other girlfriend, Azriel Clary, also moved out of Kelly’s condo at Trump Tower in Chicago as of December 2019 and has since reunited with her family. Savage, however, had continued to remain by the incarcerated R&B singer’s side.
If you’ll recall, Savage, 23, and Clary, 22, got into a physical altercation when Clary returned to Kelly’s condo to finish packing up her belongings. Footage of the incident was captured on Instagram Live. Savage was later charged with a misdemeanor battery charge and was in court on Thursday (Jan. 9) for her bond hearing where TMZ reports that Savage met her parents at the courthouse in Chicago.
Gerald Griggs, the attorney for Savage’s parents, said that they’d discreetly made their way into the holding area of the courthouse following the 23-year-old’s hearing for her battery charge. The reported meeting was set up by law enforcement officials. Griggs told TMZ that Savage spoke with her parents and other immediate family members for about 20 minutes where they exchanged hugs and her family members urged her to come home. According to reports, her parents left Joycelyn their contact information, and she expressed an interest in reaching out to them.

Clary stated, on the other hand, that she and Savage have been lying to protect Kelly, who is currently in prison facing numerous federal charges including (but not limited to) sexual abuse, child pornography, sex-trafficking, bribery, and racketeering. This comes after Savage and Clary ardently defended Kelly in an interview with Gayle King last year.
“No one ever wakes up and says, ‘today I’m going to be manipulated, or taken advantage of, or kidnapped,’ Clary wrote on Twitter. “Those are things you just cannot control. I never thought me and victim would ever be in the same sentence because I was too in denial...but once you realize, you realize.”
Hopefully, this latest update is a sign that Joycelyn Savage might be ready leave R. Kelly’s side and return home.
