Tyler Perry is showing off his slimmer figure on the November cover of Men's Health. The 43-year-old actor-producer is currently starring in the action film Alex Cross, and in the feature story he shares how he trimmed down for the role. Not only did he take on Krav Maga martial arts training, he also did cardio, body weight and free weight routines, and cable workouts for an hour each day.
He also changed his diet habits — egg whites, ground turkey chili, grilled chicken breast and healthy shakes instead of the comfort food he grew up eating. His new lifestyle resulted in a 30-pound weight loss.
"I walk into a room with a lot more confidence," Perry says. "All my life I've tried to hide my height. I was taller than everybody else and stood out, so I would slouch and try to hide it. But with what I've been able to do with my body, I'm owning it. I'm standing up when I walk into a room."
