Man Arrested for Raping and Impregnating 13-Year-Old After Positive Paternity Test
A 28-year-old man of Ocala, Florida, was arrested Tuesday after a paternity test proved he raped and impregnated a 13-year-old girl, reported Click Orlando.
According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Avisus Sedale Davis gave the victim — whose identity remains undisclosed — and her sister a ride home from school in January 2016. During the ride, he told them he needed gas money and drove to his house.
While the girls were at Davis’s house, the victim went to use the bathroom while her sister went to a store in the area. Davis told the victim he would stay in the house because the bathroom door gets stuck and he didn’t want her to be trapped, deputies said.
However, when Davis pulled the door open to help the victim out of the bathroom, he raped her, according to the arrest report. When the victim attempted to resist Davis’s attack, she was punched in the face, said deputies.
In November 2016, the girl gave birth to a baby and reported the attack to authorities. When questioned by authorities, Davis denied knowing the girl or her sister and refused to submit a DNA sample for a paternity test, the report said.
In February 2017, officials collected a DNA swab and sent it to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement laboratory. The results, which came back on May 4, indicated there was a 99.9 percent chance that Davis was the father of the victim's child, according to a report.
After his arrest, Davis was charged with sexual assault of a victim under 18 years old, cruelty toward child - impregnate child under 16, possession of marijuana and two probation violations.
