The man who proclaimed himself free of homosexuality in church could be headed to court over his words, TMZ reports. The Church of God in Christ has ordered Andrew Caldwell to stop selling the “I’m Not Gay No More” chant that he turned into a song or face a lawsuit.

Caldwell retooled his announcement into a musical offering after video of him shunning homosexuality in front of 40,000 parishioners went viral. Although he’s been accused of being a fraud, Caldwell says that he owns the rights to the Auto-Tuned song. 

However, the Memphis church is claiming ownership of “I’m Not Gay No More” because it was recorded during their Holy Convocation Convention in St. Louis. The church also feels that Caldwell is making a joke out of the whole thing by attempting to profit off of what was supposed to be a public deliverance from the gay lifestyle.

As of Thursday (Nov. 19), Caldwell had already sold over 200 copies of “I’m Not Gay No More.” If the church goes forward with the legal threats, maybe he can use his residuals to cover legal fees.
