Johnny Manziel had to see this coming.

After a tumultuous two NFL seasons, the Cleveland Browns officially waived the 23-year-old quarterback Friday in a move long-rumored and fully expected.

Although Johnny Football shouldn't be shocked by the Browns cutting him, he might be surprised by how quickly Colin Kaepernick is trying to take his job.

Around the same time news surfaced Friday that Manziel was waived, ESPN reported that Kaepernick is open to his San Francisco 49ers trading him to Cleveland, so he could be the quarterback of the Browns and play for their new head coach, Hue Jackson.

It's almost like he's trolling Manziel, but hey, it's all fair game in the dog-eat-dog world of the NFL... and well, life. If you don't do your job, somebody else will.

That and Manziel did this to himself, not only losing grip of his career, but also his life, which seemingly continues to spin out of control.

He shouldn't be surprised by Friday's events, considering the Browns had to deny an ESPN report that he showed up hungover for a December 30 team meeting and that came after his father, Paul Manziel, told the Dallas Morning News that his son had twice refused to enter rehab while pleading, "I truly believe if they can't get him help, he won't live to see his 24th birthday." 

The investigation of his alleged domestic violence assault of his girlfriend, stemming from a January 30 incident, was referred to the Dallas County District Attorney’s office for presentation to a grand jury late last month as well.

It also probably didn't help that he was seen partying with Scott Disick in Las Vegas last weekend.

Just one wrong move after another led to this point, where Kaep's about to take his job.
