Another University Takes Back Bill Cosby's Honorary Degree

Philadelphia's Drexel University wants nothing to do with the fallen icon.

Another educational institution has wiped its hands clean of Bill Cosby.

On Thursday, Philadelphia's Drexel University joined the growing list of colleges to take back honorary degrees awarded to the fallen icon. Brown University, Fordham University and Marquette University are just a few others who revoked degrees awarded to Cosby.
In a statement posted on the school's website, President John A. Fry states that Cosby's statements in a sworn deposition testimony is "in clear opposition" to Drexel's values.

"Universities are critical arenas in the movement to recognize and address sexual violence and misconduct as a societal problem," Fry stated. "Drexel takes that responsibility very seriously, and the decision to revoke Mr. Cosby's honorary degree flows from that responsibility."
The disgraced comedian faces depositions by several accusers bringing lawsuits against Cosby, most recently actress Louisa Moritz, who is suing for defamation after Team Cosby maligned her in the press for coming forward with allegations that the sitcom star stuck his penis in her mouth in a Tonight Show dressing room.
Cosby may even face criminal charges in the case of one woman he allegedly raped who was a minor at the time. Cosby was due to be deposed for a suit brought against him by Janice Dickinson, but that deposition has been delayed.
Depending on what is revealed in the forthcoming deposition, it could be the final straw for the few still defending the fallen icon. Watch a recap of just some of the fallout Cosby has faced since nearly 40 women came forward to accuse him of rape and sexual misconduct, below:
