Marsha Ambrosius, Antonique Smith Next Up for 'Road to BETX' Showcase

Newcomers Kesington Kross and Candice also scheduled to perform at L.A. show.

Marsha Ambrosius, Antonique Smith, Kesington Kross and Candice lead week two of the four-part Music Matters showcase at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall this Saturday, June 7 at 3 p.m. PST.

The four-week run of live shows are free to the public and will be incorporated into specials airing on BET and Centric TV. The programs are set to debut in the weeks before the BET Experience, beginning June 26-28, and the BET Awards on Sunday, June 29.

This weekend's event will be a full-circle return for Ambrosius. The British singer, formerly of the duo Floetry, is one of the original BET Music Matters Artists and is featured on the Music Matters Compilation Vol. 1, out June 23. Ambrosius will also open for Maxwell and Jill Scott at the BET Experience.

Like previous Music Matters showcases, fans can look forward to a mix of up-and-comers on the bill for Baldwin Hills. Smith is a singer/actress best known for her role as Faith Evans in Notorious, while L.A. native Kross landed a joint deal with Epic and LaFace Records and released his debut EP Audio Justice last December. Also hailing from Southern California is Candice, a 24-year-old singer signed to Ne-Yo's Compound Entertainment.

Fellow newcomers Eric Bellinger and Adrian Marcel opened the first round of pre-BET Experience performances on May 31. The next couple of weeks will feature RaVaughn, Dondria and Mila J on June 14, followed by Eric Benet and Day 26, who close out the series June 21.
