Why Gunplay Says Rappers Using Ghostwriters Isn't a Big Deal

Times have changed.

Gunplay is indifferent to rappers using ghostwriters because he’s adjusted with the times.

The MMG rapper spoke on the topic in a newly released interview with the Fader. “The importance of a rapper writing his own raps in 2015 doesn’t really matter anymore," he said. "It’s pop now, hip pop."

“People don’t write [their] raps. People are not real gangsters. People talk about bodies they never caught, jail time they never did...talk about cars they never drove, b****es they never f***ed,” added Gunplay.

The Florida-bred artist pointed out that his rhymes are indeed “authentic,” and even if he stands with his MMG brother, he’d never pull a Meek Mill and blast another rapper. “Fans like it, f**k it. This is what it is. You have to embrace it. Accept it.”
